A MacLaren F1 Car, a Major Australian TV Network and our Uber sexy Uniforms in one day?!? Have the past 2000 Christmas' come all at once???

Probably not. But today was still incredible. Today was Act Two, Scene I'm-not-sure in our journey towards the World Finals. Begining with the Arrival of McLaren MP4-21 Formula One Car (Pictured with the team below) we then had the arrival of our Uniforms, or well, the Competition wear anyway. (Personally I think it looks incredible) Then, after many photos and chats with various people, a team from the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) came out to film a story on us. A new experience for much of the team after never being on TV before this occasion. With only about 23 days before we fly out to Texas, this really was a great way to kick off the last leg of the lead up to the competition. A huge thanks to Captivations for their supplying of our Uniforms, and working closely with me to design a very fitting, and visually appealing design. Now, enjoy the compilation of photos from todays event below.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!

So as the title might suggest, WE ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS OF THE F1 IN SCHOOLS AUSTRALIA COMPETITION!!!!
The competition was amazing and we took out three awards; Grand Prix, Best Team Pit Display, and of course National Champions. From this we will be heading off to Austin, Texas where we will be competing at the F1 in Schools World Titles. Thank you very much to all our supporters that helped get us here, particularly Samuel Batty from ANSTO (And ANSTO themselves), Impression Markings, Engadine Rotary Club, CA Rich Engineering, Southside Restorations and Helensburgh Car Services. Without the help of and and our other amazing sponsors we might not have made it down there at all. Uploaded (Check out our sponsors page!) is a PDF detailing information about each of our sponsors, with links to their websites, you'll also find this on your Motion Racing USB's if you saw us down in Melbourne.

Anyway, after a short break we'll be back into F1, preparing for the World Finals. Lets do this!

Oh yeah, I just remembered I haven't yet posted a picture of our car, so here- (The one at the front of the pack)

Sponsor Evening and Mufti Day.

So today Motion Racing held their Mufti Day (Colours to wear were Red, Blue, White and/or Black) and Sponsor Evening. Aside from the rain in the morning I don't think either could have gone any better. The turnout in the evening was amazing and all of our wonderful sponsors were very impressed with our presentation, Pit Area (Which I must say looks stunning) and racing. Well done to the rest of the team for their professionalism and speeches. Although the Mufti Day started off a bit dreary (Thank the rain for that...) the school photo was able to be taken at the end of recess and everyone looked great. It was wonderful to see the whole school backing the team in their ventures. Plus a substantial amount of money was raised :DWith just a week before Motion Racing flies out and begins competing, things are really beginning to ramp up, our excitement, stress, nerves, commitment (Not that there was ever an issue with that) and so on. Lets see how things go from here.

"The Dream of yesterday, is the hope of today, and the reality of tomorrow." –Robert Goddard

This quote could not be any truer for us at this time. Tomorrow we touch down in Avalon, ready to take on the F1 in Schools Australian National Finals for 2013, and hopefully win it. What started out as a dream, turned to hope, and dedication. And now it may soon become a reality. If not for us, then another team (Though we’d really like it to be us). In just a few hours we’ll be up against around 20 other teams, all competing to make their dream come true- to represent Australia in Texas later this year. The journey so far has been amazing, and unforgettable. Assuming all goes well, this won’t be the teams last adrenalin filled week of competition. Together.

I entered this competition in year 8, I am now in year 10. I've taken up multiple roles and each one has taught me something different. And yet each new skill I developed will benefit me when I leave school and enter the real world. From graphics and design, to budgeting and marketing all of these will impact my future career. If you stop doing, trying, innovating and arguably above all, stop learning, you will not move forward in life, rather instead stuck in the same rut, never improving on your current self, which is a terrible thing to happen.
I’ll leave you with a video, titled “The Audacity to Dream” and a message- We live in an age where many claim that there is an end to dreaming. Here is a reminder that our dreams can take us beyond the skies, into the heavens! We are fortunate to live in a time when we can see incredible sights and do remarkable feats. And so, follow your heart and your dreams, do the job you want to do, and one day you’ll make something great of yourself.
